About Monica

About the Author

Mental health has been a primary concern in my life since my first diagnosis of depression several years ago, leading to my current dual diagnoses of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Bipolar II disorder, supplemented with sufficient amounts of anxiety. This is where I speak about my recovery journey and the things I’ve learned through my navigation of the mental health system.
My goal is to end stigma through brutal honesty and open conversation on the things that affect me every day as a person in recovery. While some posts may be triggering to read and contain sensitive material, my message is one of hope and support to others who may be facing similar trials in life.
I am not a counselor and while I encourage you to drop me a comment or two if something resonates with you or you have a general question, please seek professional help if you are depressed or considering suicide.
Every person has a road that they must travel to recovery. And each road is different, some with hills and valleys, some with twists and turns, and others with patches of potholes and freshly paved ground. Not one road will be easier than another, each with it's own challenges to overcome. This blog is about my journey, and about finding the light of a new day, the next mile to travel.
Thank you for stopping by!
Monica
